About this course
This is a 40-hour course that provides you with an understanding of the basic concepts and skills necessary to configure Check Point Security Gateway and Management Software Blades. During this course, you will configure a Security Policy and learn about managing and monitoring a secure network, upgrading and configuring a Security Gateway, and implementing a virtual private network.
Audience profile
This course is for systems administrators, support analysts, security engineers, network engineers, and any other IT professional with general knowledge of TCP/IP, and working knowledge of Windows, UNIX/Linux, network technology, and the internet.
At course completion
After completing this course, students will be able to:
- Introduce and deploy checkpoint technology and platforms

- Use Smart Update, user management, and authentication

Course details
Module 1: Check Point Security Management & Upgrading
This module will teach about checkpoint security management, backup and restore security gateways, and management of servers. You’ll learn about upgrading standalone full high availability.
Module 2: The Check Point Firewall
This module is about the advanced firewall, checkpoint firewall infrastructure as well as a security gateway. You’ll learn about kernel tables, checkpoint firewall key features, NAT, and FW monitor.
Module 3: Clustering and Acceleration
This module gives a broad clustering and acceleration, VRRP, clusters, maintenance Tasks, and Tools. You will learn about security acceleration and multi-core acceleration.
Module 4: Check Point Smart Dashboard
This module teaches students how to connect the gateway with the checkpoint management server, learn about stealth rules and cleanup rules, and create objects, networks, or network ranges. You’ll learn about how to create a service port manually in a checkpoint firewall and all the basics of a Smart Dashboard.
Module 5: Advanced User Management
This module will educate students on user management, troubleshooting user authentication, and user directory. And Identity awareness will be taught in this session.
Module 6: Advanced IPsec VPN and Remote Access
This session teaches advanced IPsec VPN and remote access, concepts, and practices. Students will learn all about remote access VPNs, tunnel management, troubleshooting, and VPN debugging.
Module 7: Auditing and Reporting
This module will teach the checkpoint auditing and reporting procedure, Smart Event, Smart Event architecture, and Smart Reporter.
